Exporting a Server Configuration as a vCenter Template

Cloud Automation Platform provides a method to export server configurations into VMware vCenter Server as vCenter virtual machine templates. Conversely, VMware vCenter templates can be imported into Cloud Automation Platform as server configurations.

Cloud Automation Platform employs server configurations to create an application configuration and ultimately a session, which defines all the resources needed to deploy a session.

To export a server configuration as a template perform the following steps:

  1. In the left pane of the CAP web interface, click Server Configurations.

In the right pane, the table of existing server configurations appears.

  1. Select the check box(es) beside the server configuration(s) that you want to export, and then click Export.

The Export to vCenter dialog box appears.

  1. In the Host list, select the IP Address of the vCenter Server.

  1. Select the Data Store in which you want to place the exported server configuration (.vmdk files).

  1. Review the information, and then click Export.
