About Application Configurations

An application configuration defines all the resources needed to deploy a single session. For example, to use the QA/Test Solution to test a new software product on a specific platform, your application configuration would contain a server configuration with the new software on that platform or operating system (OS).

When application configurations are deployed to create a reservation for a session, a VM is provisioned for each server configuration associated with the application configuration.

The process of creating an application configuration involves identifying the server configuration(s) that will be used to instantiate the VMs on the virtualization hosts, configuring the virtual networks between the VMs' network adapters, and providing a name and description for the application configuration. Use the New Application Configuration Wizard to create a new application configuration.

Before creating a new application configuration, the appropriate server configurations must have been created. See the workflow diagram for more information.
